OrCam MyEye (Visual Aid)

Hi my name is Micah Smith, I live in New Caney TX. I am fundraising to be able to get the OrCam MyEye device. In 2014 I was involved in a head on car crash. As a result I lost my eyesight, broke both femurs, and suffered kidney damage which causes me to attend dialysis 3 days a week. Since my accident I have not been able to regain strength in my legs despite therapy and I am wheelchair bound as of now. Most recently I have had to have my left hand amputated due to lack of blood flow to hand which is a result of being on dialysis. I struggle with my daily activities because of my disabilities. This device would allow me to be more independent and even though I can no longer see, it would be the next best thing to vision. The device features include: A color identifier, which would allow me to match my clothing without assistance. It has money identification, which would allow me to carry my own cash. A barcode reader which is used while shopping to be able to identify different grocery items. The cam has facial recognition which would allow me to store up to 150 images of friends and family, that way when I am near them the camera would let me know. This device would also give me the freedom of reading my own menu in restaurants, reading a newspaper, or a book. I would be able to read just about any text in front of me with this device. Due to my disabilities I am no longer able to work and I am on a fixed income. This device would be a dream come true and would give me more freedom to accomplish my everyday task. One day I hope to get my strength back in my legs so I can walk again and this device would even help me then to get me around.
