Ordination Retreat for Claire Robillard

It is our great pleasure to let you all know that Claire Robillard has been invited to attend the 3-month Ordination Retreat at Akashavana in Spain in the spring of 2022. Claire is retired and cannot attend this amazing experience without the help of her friends.
We estimate that it will cost $8500 CAD ($6700 USD approximately). to make this happen. This includes the cost of the retreat itself for Claire and her Private Preceptor, Vimalasara as well as their travel expenses from Vancouver BC to Akashavana.
Who is Claire?
For those who don’t know Claire very well, here is her story in her own words:
“My Buddhist journey began in the fall of 2013. I could point to many things: the warmth and kindness of the sangha, the breath of honesty, the meaningful conversations, my first walk with an Order Member outside my home, my first retreat, reading Loving Kindness, the truth and logic of the dharma, Recovery Mondays, a sense of coming home, growing friendships as I dipped my feet into Mitra studies.
Asking to become a mitra was a long time coming. I could not call myself a Buddhist without being sure it was really what I wanted. After completing the first foundation year of study I had to take a hard look at what I wanted. Could I go for refuge to the 3 jewels? Did I even understand what that meant? Having made the decision to become a mitra, asking for ordination was a natural progression. I wanted more than to be a mitra, I wanted to become an order member. I trusted in the process and no longer doubted this is where my life was taking me. I was actually all in from that first walk that happened at my home back in 2013. I just didn’t know it!
Being with the Order brings me joy, a joy that I want to share with others.”
