ORN Grooming 2020-21

Think Snow! UPDATE :
Thank you to all of our donors to date. We have achieved our initial goal to fund gas, signage, and routine maintenance of our snow machine. We have seen that the trails are well used and have had rave reviews of our local trails. However, our tried and true Ski-do groomed its last corduroy on Saturday 2/12. It has failed catastrophically so we are now in the process of shopping for a new machine to pull our groomer. The all-in for a new snow machine is $14,000.
Onion River Nordic needs your help to provide quality groomed cross country ski trails to our Central Vermont community. In collaboration with the Montpelier Parks Department, ORN is committed to groom upwards of 25 km of ski trail in Montpelier - including Hubbard and North Branch Parks and the Montpelier Elks Country Club - and East Montpelier. Grooming requires commitments of both time and capital; donations will be used to offset the cost of a new groomer (~7,500), pay for gas and upkeep of the snow machines, and provide a bit of a nest egg for future purchase of an additional snow machine. We are looking at purchasing equipment to be ready for when the snow starts to fly in a few short weeks! With your help, we can have more people outside enjoying all that winter has to offer. Thank you!
