Build a baby wombat house
Donation protected

Hey my name is Wilma - I am an orphaned Joey and my carer found my mum and I in the middle of the road. Sadly my mum didn’t make it and I had to be cut out of my mum’s pouch.
I live on a property on the central coast with other orphaned animals; at the moment I live with 2 Eastern Grey Kangaroo Joeys and another orphaned wombat Joey called Winnie.
As we are all only young joeys, we sleep in man made pouches for now, but as we grow we will need an outdoor safe place to learn how to become wombats and kangaroos that will be able to be released back into the wild.
My enclosure has to be quite big because I grow up to 76cm long and between 25 and 40kgs. I love digging burrows with many tunnels and sleeping chambers, this is why my carer must build at least a 1m deep barrier, that I can’t dig through and will protect me from predators.
My other friends, the Kangaroo joeys need the enclosure to be at least 1.8m high so they can’t jump out. I also need a waterproof shelter and roofing so that Wedge-Tailed Eagles don’t snatch me, fly away and eat me for dinner.
As you can imagine this is going to be quite expensive so my carer and I would be really grateful if you could help build a new safe outdoor home for all the orphaned joeys my carer will help save and rescue.
