Orphans of the Storm New Shelter Building
Donation protected
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the short video above is worth a million. The animals at Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter need your help.
Hi. My name is Rebecca, and I am raising money on behalf of the animals, staff, and volunteers to help Orphans of the Storm (OOTS) pay for a desperately needed new animal shelter. OOTS, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is located north of Pittsburgh, in rural Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
With just a handful of employees and a small army of volunteers, OOTS provides shelter, food, water, medical attention, and other services to approximately 1,000 abandoned or unwanted animals each year while they wait for their forever homes. As the only physical shelter in Armstrong County, OOTS serves 45 municipalities and averages 700 pet adoptions each year.
Unfortunately, a recently constructed highway bypass in the immediate area has caused severe flooding to the aging shelter. This flooding has required the repeated emergency evacuation of these vulnerable, already-traumatized animals. It has also caused extensive damage to the building, the equipment, and the records.
The proposed new facility will be 10,000 square feet and will be situated nearby on
higher ground, but we need help to make this happen. Any amount that you can donate will be greatly appreciated by the employees and the volunteers, but most of all, by the animals who rely on us for everything.
