Calvin was born a happy healthy little boy but at 15 months he suffered a stroke due to being severely anemic. We found out that he can't absorb iron. The stroke happened in the right cerebellum and required two surgeries to save his life. Shortly after the surgeries we discovered that he was leaking CSF from his incision they had to go back in a couple times and close him up properly. From this leaking of the CSF he caught meningitis which developed hydrocephalus which makes him require a shunt. He has had many shunt revisions and we are still currently trying to get things with the shunt figured out since or latest set back with scar tissue and extra fluid in the fourth ventricle. From Calvin's last brain surgery he developed posterior fossa syndrome due to the immense amount of trauma his brain has been through this past year. This has made him loose all emotions, he hasn't smiled, laughed, cried, ect... since January. Calvin has had 20 + surgeries in the past year and we have been back and forth from Helen Devos childrens hospital and Mary Free Bed rehabilitation hospital trying to get Calvin sitting, standing, and walking on his own again. Would you please consider donating.
