Osbie’s Leukemia Journey
As all know, Oz was recently diagnosed with a type of Leukemia called CML Blast Crisis/AML. He had a lump on his belly for some time. We scheduled a routine appointment with the Family Clinic at KU Medical Center. After many test and many long nights, the doctor called. Results showed a enlarged spleen and extremely dangerously high white blood cells. Doctor recommended that I bring him directly to KU Med. We arrived to be admitted to a ICU room. That was overwhelming, to say the least. He was in a ICU room with nurses , doctors and medical students working fast. But we serve a good God, the next afternoon he was transferred to the a regular room. He is forecasted to being admitted for a month, going home for a couple of weeks and right back for another month. This time includes chemotherapy, IV treatment and finally a bone marrow transplant. This will have a long road to recovery. But Oz is in great spirits and he says he will be healed!
As many know, Oz is a bricklayer with the Local 15 BAC Union . During this he will not be able to work and anything you can afford would be greatly appreciated. This fund is to keep the home going strong during his treatment. I am looking for work, but will have times where I will have to be with him for twenty four hours a day. Due to his immune system being compromised.
God bless you all! And thank you in advance.
