An Expedition for Down Syndrome Awareness
Donation protected
Hello, we are the Osbornes! We are a family of five, preparing to embark on a World Record setting sailing expedition for Down Syndrome awareness. Over three years, we will attempt to circumnavigate the world including the most remote and unpredictable seas on the planet – the Arctic and Antarctica.
The World Records attempts are:
- The First Person with Down Syndrome to Circumnavigate by Sailboat
- The First Person with Down Syndrome to sail to Antarctica
- The First Person with Down Syndrome to sail from the Arctic to Antarctica
Our motivation is our extraordinary son, Ren who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth. When he was born we were often reminded of all the challenges he would face, but few told us of Ren’s remarkable potential. Ren defies conventions, leading a life of adventure filled with sailing, hiking, spelunking, and camping - activities rarely associated with Down Syndrome. His tenacity in overcoming challenges is truly awe-inspiring, and his passion and love are contagious. We hope to inspire both families and individuals to look past a diagnosis and understand the impossible is possible.
Your donation, no matter how big or how small, will help make this dream a reality. All donations will be used for equipment, essential safety gear, and logistics. Every dollar brings us one step closer to our goal and shows the world that Down Syndrome is not a limitation, but instead a source of beauty, love, and inspiration.
