Hi, on behalf of the Catalyst, we are fundraising for our dear friend and colleague, Oscar Amezquita's family.

Oscar Amezquita passed away on October 10, 2023, at 45 years old. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Oscar was born on December 2, 1977, in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in South Los Angeles, where he created lasting memories and earned the respect and love of his community.
Oscar's kind heart and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him, especially his family. He was a passionate sports fan who loved the Rams, Lakers, and Dodgers. He found immense joy in watching his children and grandchild grow up, and he couldn't wait to meet his new grandson, Elias, who was due to arrive this month.

For two and a half years, Oscar had bravely battled the long-term effects of COVID-19. He was bedridden, intubated multiple times, and resuscitated five times due to cardiac arrest. Oscar also developed kidney failure, requiring dialysis three times a week, and pneumonia, which took a heavy toll on his lungs and body. Despite these challenges, he was a fighter.

Oscar was also a business owner and part of the Catalyst family.

He is survived by his wife, Araceli Morales, son Jacob, and daughters Aubree, Jada, and Jayle.
