Oscar Ortiz's surgeries fundraiser

Donation protected

On July 3rd, 2017, the day my son-in-law Oscar Ortiz was to start a new job, he was in incredible pain from Diverticulitis and had to be admitted to the hospital.  His condition worsened and on July 6th, he underwent emergency surgery at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN.   Part of his colon had to be removed.   On the morning of July 15th, while still recovering from the first surgery, he developed severe pain and a CT scan showed 1.5 liters of blood in his abdomen.   Another emergency surgery and a blood transfusion,  put him in the ICU until the night of July 17th.   He is still recovering at Mercy Hospital and will be at least until July 23rd.  He will need home care visits and will be unable to work for at least 3 months.

While Oscar has been in the hospital, he lost his new job he was to start the day he had to be admitted (July 3rd).  He now has no job.  His wife is employed, but they have two children 8 and 12 years old to care for.   They were just scraping  by, living paycheck to paycheck like many young couples do, while both spouses are working.   Unfortunately my family and Oscar's family both have our own family members with health issues and are not wealthy.    Oscar has no short term disability, as he was to start the new job the day he entered the hospital.  It will take a follow up surgery in 6 months to a year, before Oscar will be back to full health.

If you can find it in your heart to help Oscar and my daughter and their two young children through this tough time,  it would be much appreciated.   Any amount of donation will help.  God bless you all who are reading this.
