Oscar's fight against Leukaemia

Support for Oscar!

As many of you may know, Oscar unexpectedly became unwell at the beginning of February and spent most of the month in the Royal Hobart Hospital. After many invasive tests and no official diagnosis, he was discharged home in late February but continued to require ongoing blood tests and specialist appointments. Unfortunately, however, things didn't get better for Oscar and our little man was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on the 5th of April.

B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) is a form of childhood cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. Chemotherapy is the first line of treatment for ALL (which Oscar has commenced), and ongoing treatment can last for up to a couple of years. The full treatment plan will be determined as things progress, but we do know that things will not be easy.

Many other 4-year-olds are spending this time going to school for the first time, but for Oscar it has been a very different story. Although he has managed a few days there, Oscar has now swapped his school bag for a hospital bag in preparation for a very long road ahead.

This GoFundMe has been set up to help alleviate some of the pressures that his parents, Nick Cripps and Shantelle Rogers, are going to face in the coming few months or even years. There will be ongoing accommodation and travel costs, the management of general living expenses, and undoubtedly many other financial burdens along the way. All funds raised will go directly to this cause and straight towards anything extra that Oscar may need.

We all know Oscar (our little pocket rocket) and want to do all we can to support him and his family with this difficult journey ahead. We definitely know he is a warrior, so hopefully we can see our fun, cheeky, mischievous Oscar back to full health in no time!

Any donation, big or small, will go such a long way and would be so gratefully received. We understand that not everyone is in a position to donate money, so if you are unable to do so but can offer help or support in another way, this too would be very much appreciated.

Let's get behind Oscar and support him like the little superhero he is!
