Funeral Arrangements for Oshayne

*UPDATE* Sadly, on June 29th Oshanye Stephens passed away. Donations will now be used to assist his family with funeral arrangements. Please keep his family, friends, and school community in your prayers.

During the final week of school, Oshayne Stephens, a 9th grader at the Academy for College and Career Exploration, had a tragic accident at the Roosevelt pool. He was found unconscious in the deep end and has been in a coma for over two weeks at John Hopkin's Children's Center. Oshayne immigrated to the United States from Jamaica just two years ago. He is respectful, funny, and loyal to his family. He loves soccer, running, and spending time with his friends. He has a soft, contagious smile.

As bills begin to pile up and hospital expenses increase, his family needs our support. Melaca, Oshayne's mother, has been spending every day by his side, which means she hasn't been able to work. Additionally, hospital parking fees (over $20/day) are proving to be a burden. At this time, it is unclear just how long his recovery will take.
