Osiris The Skater’s journey to the Grammies

Hey! My name is Osiris Carroll, also known as Osiris The Skater. I’m a 27 year old Recording Artist from Chicago IL. I was homeschooled growing up so my social abilities were developed during my mid teen years. My message to the world is that it doesn’t matter what background you come from - everybody has a voice and should be heard. I speak for and represent those who feel as if they don’t have a voice and who typically don’t “fit in” to the norm. The world will accept you if you accept yourself! From being homeschooled, to roller skating, and playing tennis, I had to learn the hard way to accept myself in its entirety. I pray that my story and journey can inspire others to love themselves and accept themselves for who they are 100%!

For years I’ve been doing research, gathering knowledge, and preparing myself for this journey. In October of 2020 I released my first official mixtape called Statement

This was my “coming out” project. A project that made me realize if I keep going then I know I can win that Grammy!

The responses I got from this project were wholesome. This projected grossed over 5k streams in its first month of being released. From there I knew I had to go harder!

from releasing “Statement” in October I then released another project titled “Sacrifices ” on New Year’s Day 2021

This 4 track EP was special to me and still is. This EP gave me more recognition as an artist. I was able to secure a feature from a relatively known Chicago artist named Solo The Dweeb. From this feature I was able to get more eyes on my artistry! Sacrifices has grossed over 10,000 total streams for the project.

transitioning into the year of 2021 my focus was to redefine my sound and make it more whole. Finding yourself as an artist can be a process - and the remainder of the year was geared towards me doing just that. Solidifying the business side of things and preparing for what’s to come. As of today, Osiris The Skater LLC is officially a registered business in the state of IL

as the year 2021 was closing out I was able to be featured in 2 major publication!

Both these articles are highlighting one of my Singles titled “Motion”. Motion has been featured on Power92 (92.3) radio station 5 times!!!

As we entered 2022 I was busy! I released another project called “Letting Go ”

This project was inspired by a break up and made me realize in order to be whole and truly the better version of myself.. I must learn to Let Go of all things that held/holding you back - no matter what it is. People ask me how do I do it.. I tell them I learned to let go.

this music video really showed a different side of my artistry. I am my own creative director and writer and this music video gave me even more hope that I’m on the right path!

from the release of Letting Go This project grossed over 10k streams within its first month. From there I released a single and a new music video to that single.

The Hard Times music video grossed 10k+ views in 7 days - this was an extremely big milestone for my career! I knew I couldn’t stop and had to go even HARDER!!!!

the next month I knew it was time to step it up a notch. I started working on my 4th project (release date TBD) and creating the vision for it! As this was going on, I released a new music video titled “Arise ” this is when things changed for me as a artist. https://youtu.be/YRMImcAMBA0

The “Arise” music video grossed over 100k views in 14 days from its release date. The quality, message, and work we put into making that music video made me ask myself a question… “Why not you O”

asking that question made me reflect on all that I’ve done and all that I’m doing currently to make this dream become a reality. I am my own label and I take care of everything on the back end by myself.

I’ve performed in numerous locations, show cases, open mics, and more. A few credible performances I’ve had was at The Promontory, Bassline Chicago, Subterranean, Tribe House, and more.

This journey has been fantastic thus far but it’s time to take it to the next level. With your help I can do just that!!!

To put this in perspective - my last music video to “Arise ” was roughly $2,000 that was funded solely out of my own pocket. I take pride in the quality of my work and I refuse to settle for less than what I know I can produce.
