Who are Oskar and Ange?
Oskar and Ange, ages 25 and 20, are siblings living on their own as Rwandan asylum seekers in South Africa. We are raising money to send them both to post secondary. We will be paying the university or college directly, ensuring they can be enrolled in a full year of school.

Their history…
The siblings came to Cape Town in 2011 as asylum seekers from their home country of Rwanda where Oskar was persecuted for political reasons.
Current situation…
Unfortunately it has been a very hard life for them in South Africa. Oskar and Ange are asylum seekers which means there is no support from the government; their resources are very limited and so they are struggling to survive right now. Most jobs are not accessible to foreigners. Oskar has been working as a car guard, watching people’s parked cars only for small tips. He is working so that his sister can continue to go to school. Ange has just finished her final year of high school.
She is still very new to English so school is a huge challenge but she would like to get into Robin Trust Nursing College. She is receiving a small monthly grant of 300R (30$) from the Cape Town Refugee Center but it is barely enough to pay even for food. That is the only social services they are able to access. We chose to help her because of her potential and determination to pursue an education despite having very little support. Here is where they are renting one room:
