Ohio State Waterski Team Fundraiser

Donation protected

The Ohio State Waterski Team has worked very hard over the past three years raising money to upgrade from the 1994 Malibu that the team had to a newer more reliable boat. After hundreds of team volunteer hours, multiple alumni tournaments, and various other efforts, the team saved over $30k in 3 years and purchased a 2011 Centurion Carbon Pro with a brand new engine! With the new boat the team is looking to purchase a lift to keep it on so that the boat is easily accessible for all team members and is well protected for the summer and through the season.

The Ohio State Waterski Team is an official club sport at Ohio State University. Many students begin water skiing, or further their lifelong passion for water skiing, by joining the team during their college years. The team travels across the country to compete in 3-event waterski tournaments under the National Collegiate Water Ski Association (NCWSA).

The past two seasons have been very successful for us as the team has seen significant improvement both on and off the water. Membership has increased from 13 members in 2013 to 33 today. Ohio State won the Conference Championship in 2014, 2015, and 2016, while also earning Midwest Team of the Year Awards. This past season OSU won the Midwest Regional Championship and finished in 6th place at D1 Nationals, OSU's highest finish ever. This makes Ohio State the best non-varsity ski team in the nation! The team is very proud of what we have accomplished in the past three years, and hope to continue that trend.

The University provides limited funding to the team. As such, most of the financial burden lies on the skiers’ shoulders. This includes ski equipment, boat costs, gas, travel expenses, etc. The team has been fervently fundraising over the past three years. After saving up over $30k the team was able to purchase a boat that should be great for the team to use for years to come. Our "new" 2011 Centurion is a reliable boat with an up-to-date speed control system.

As the Ohio State Waterski Team looks to buy a lift for the boat it is kicking off a fundraising campaign for the 2016 season. We are looking for any kind of donations or assistance that may help us meet our goal of purchasing a lift and building our bank account back up a bit so that we have an emergency fund again.

Any donations would be much appreciated! For any businesses or individuals that would like, we are offering sticker space on the team trailer that travels thousands of miles around the US each year!
