Our Athena needs surgery

Hello everyone! My name is Matthew and I'm starting this fundraiser for my baby girl Athena.

We have 3 fur babies, including Athena, and we love each of them very much! We love and care for them everyday, and they equally reciprocate their love for us! We have Athena, her brother Scout, and her little sister Kalia. The 3 pups are truly inseparable and I couldn't imagine the effects of not having our Athena, in all of our lives!

It is very hard thinking and potentially knowing that we may not have the financial ability to pay for what she needs!

Our current circumstance:

My wife Tasha and I took our Athena to the emergency room this morning, and found out that she has a small obstruction in the beginning of her small intestines, that may need surgery; unless her situation changes for the better.

Athena started not acting herself this past Friday morning (not really eating), and then Friday night &Saturday she started throwing up some yellow bile.

We monitored her yesterday evening, and also overnight, but this morning we decided that she needed to be seen. She still had the same symptoms and hadn't progressed as we had hoped!

Athena unfortunately, about 5 months ago ate a rubber ball; which she ended up throwing-up that same day. However, here we are almost 5 months later and to our surprise after an X-Ray, there is a piece in her stomach that never came out.

The Dr found a small piece of rubber ball in the area of her small intestine and suggested surgery. Dr said that it would cost us, upwards of around $10,000.00 to perform the surgery.

Athena's blood came back normal, electrolytes normal, slight elevation in white blood cells though, but we ended up taking her home.

We are monitoring her and also calling for second opinions to see where we might get the surgery done at a more affordable cost, but the holiday has made it difficult to accomplish getting additional options on the table. Which is why we are doing everything in our power to prepare financially, for the surgery she needs.

-Athena is an amazing part of our family and we are driven to get her on the other side of this situation! She is only 3.5 years old and has so many more years ahead of her, to live!
