Our Beautiful Kelly Sims Crawford

Our dearest Kelly Sims Crawford passed away very sadly and unexpectedly on the morning of January 31, 2024.

She was diagnosed with pneumonia plus a blood infection and had been receiving care in ICU for little over two weeks. There had recently been signs of great improvement and we were all so hopeful!! Her treatment plan involved moving out of the hospital to an inpatient rehabilitation center for therapy modalities since she still had limitations with walking and use of her limbs, however everything began to point towards a positive direction.

Unfortunately, she took a sudden and unexpected turn for the worse and left us, leaving all family and friends in disbelief and heartbroken.

Kelly is survived by her only son Josh Crawford, his wife Deja and his beautiful children Jayven and Journi, as well as her sister, Barbara, in Oregon and her brother, Steve, in California as well as their families. She is proceeded in death by her brother Jim.

In the words of her son:

The best mom I could have ever asked for. I learned how to love my kids by seeing how much she loved me. She taught me God comes first and to always put my faith in him. She taught me relationships and love is the only currency that really matters. The sacrifices she made for me live on forever through me and her grandkids. She loved me enough to transcend time across generations and change the course of our family line. She was a truly selfless person. She raised me as a single mom and still took in my friends or people from church to stay with us and treated them like family. She would bend over backwards to help others and never expected anything in return. She would feed, clothe, take care of anyone who needed help. She showed me what it means to have a big heart. She recently lost her job before passing and lost all her life insurance. She was taken from us far too soon. The least we can do is give back to a woman who has spent her whole life giving. I am witness to a kindness that deserves praise, although she wouldn’t want it. She never did it for recognition. She was just truly a kind selfless soul. She could make even the smallest of tasks fun and memorable. She was a bright light wherever she was. She loved her grandkids so much and it breaks my heart she can’t stay to watch them grow up, although I know she will be watching from heaven. Her faith in Christ never wavered even in the most troublesome of times. She was an amazing role model and I can only hope to come close to the standard she has set. I’ll miss her forever and always and there will always be a hole in my heart now that she is gone. :( I love you always mom.

In the words of some of Kelly's friends: Kelly was a very kind, sweet and beautiful soul with a heart of gold, a light in the room, always had a smile, was a true friend, she cherished her family & friends and loved being part of our OC family of music lovers!

Medical fees as well as the final arrangements, which can be costly, have now been left to Josh and Kelly's family. We ask for any financial assistance you are comfortable with to help support them during their time of grief for our beloved friend Kelly. Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support and we send hugs to all of you who are already missing our beautiful friend Kelly!
