Help our beautiful Megsy kick cancer's butt!

My name is Cassie; I am starting this go fund page to help support my best friend of 32 years, Meagan.

Megsy, as we all fondly know her, has recently been dealt a rough draw card and has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer - HER2 positive invasive High grade in her left breast.

Megsy will soon start her treatment to kick the very unwelcome lump out of her body, and we are all getting behind her and positive if anyone can do it, it is her!

Our beautiful Megsy is only 33 years old.

This diagnosis has come as a big shock to all of us, and of course, in true Megsy fashion, she is more worried about everyone else around her and how it will affect her friends, family and her loved job and colleagues at Caring for you.

Before Megsy starts her chemo treatment that will follow with surgery, she will also have to undergo a fertility egg retrieval process as a precaution as she has yet to have kids of her own.

Both she and her fantastic partner Scotty had plans to grow a little family of their own in the future, and this will ensure that they have that option if any complications were to happen with her eggs during chemo.

Although Megsy will go through the public system, and there are some financial discounts for medications and surgeries, unfortunately, the government programs can't cover it all.

There is also a new drug that she has been recommended to take that will prevent the specific cancer cells from returning; this one is not funded as of yet and will cost $6000 alone. Megsy might also have to take some time off work to ensure she rests and gets the best care during treatment and recovery.

These costs all add up pretty quickly and already feel a bit overwhelming. I know we have amazing friends and family, and the community down on the Mornington Peninsula and beyond that have been asking me what they can do to help. I know that by all chipping in a little bit together, we will be able to cover some of the costs of the medical bills and time off work so Megsy can focus on her health and kicking this cancer's Butt!

If you are lucky enough to know Megsy, you know she is the most caring, beautiful, kind, bubbly, loyal and beautiful human inside and out. I'm so lucky that I have her as my best friend, and I know if the shoe were on anyone else foot, she would be the first to jump up to lend her help!
