Our beloved Jacob

As many of you may have heard, and I’m so sorry to announce, we sadly lost our dear Jacob Wednesday evening to an unfortunate battle with his mental health. Unfortunately, this resulted in Jacob taking his own life. As you can imagine, his family and friends are absolutely devastated and cannot even begin to word how they are all feeling.

We are all in utter shock with how the system has let Jacob down and how there wasn’t enough help provided for him. In result of this, myself and his family, have decided to start this fundraiser to not only raise awareness of suicide, but to also raise money for a support group Jacob was very fond of, known as ‘Man Down’. Half the money that is donated by everyone, will be sent to ‘Man Down’ in order to help them in anyway it is able to, to support men struggling with their mental health. The other half of the money will be used to cover some of Jacob’s funeral cost.

Jacob was loved and cared for by so many people, which makes this so difficult to process. He was the life of every party, the funniest person in every room, and a young man with the biggest heart. Jacob was taken from this world too young, however, he was fighting too many demons to the point where he just needed peace. Sadly, he found his peace in a way which meant he would no longer be with us.

I would also like to say how much everyone meant to Jacob. He loved and appreciated every single one of his friends and family, and always put everyone else before himself. Jacob helped a few of his mates through some very dark times and I know a couple have mentioned how they wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. He had a massive impact on everyone’s lives as he was just such a loveable character. Jacob was the most selfless person I have ever met, and I think we all wish he would have been selfish this one time and reached out to ask for help.

Thank you for all the love and kind messages his family and I have received, we are so grateful and blessed to have everyone around supporting us through this.
