Our beloved Kurt Caron
Donation protected
On Monday October 5, 2020, I had called the ambulance as Kurt had major abdominal pain and not been feeling well since Thursday. He was taken to Avera Marshall Hospital where a CAT scan was performed and found he had an abdominal aortic aneurysm and was actively bleeding. He was life flighted at 5:08 pm October 5th to Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. By the time we had got to the hospital he was already out of surgery. When we got up here I was able to speak with his doctor. They needed to give him 10 or 11 units of blood during surgery and were able to repair the aneurysm. We were told he is critically ill and may not make it through the night.
The biggest issue Was his blood pressure. He was on 3 medications to keep his blood pressure up.
Because of the rupture, decreased flow to the kidneys he was acidotic. Loss of blood and blood flow to his legs. They went in yesterday morning and found a blood clot in his right leg and were able to unblock it. However, he only had blood flow to his knees in both legs. They also placed a catheter in his neck for dialysis as his kidneys were not functioning either but his blood pressure was too low to even start the dialysis.
With our saddened hearts, our beloved Kurt Caron has passed away On Tuesday October 6th at 11:15pm. Our hearts are broken. We would like to thank everyone for the continuous prayers. We would also like to thank all of the staff at the Avera Heart Hospital for taking care of him as best as they could. Please continue to pray for our family so that we may find comfort and peace.
If anyone would be able to donate to help our family with the medical expenses and funeral costs it would help our family tremendously. Please continue to lift our family up in prayer during this hard time. Thank you to the Avera Heart Hospital and to all our family and friends.
