Our brother in blue and his family.

Sergeant Lonnie Faircloth has given 22 years of his life to the West Virginia State Police. He is the detachment commander at our Martinsburg detachment and the Vice President of the West Virginia Troopers Association. On February 14, 2020, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Metastatic Melanoma. On March 27, 2020, he had surgery to remove 33 lymph nodes and two nerves. Unfortunately, 12 of the lymph nodes contained cancer. Lonnie underwent 20 rounds of radiation and almost one full year of chemo.

On June 25, 2022, Lonnie began having seizures. A catscan and MRI revealed the cancer is now stage 4 as it has metastasized to his brain. Lonnie has been getting PET scans every three months throughout this process, and all of them have been clear, including the latest just three months ago.

Lonnie is undergoing brain surgery at John's Hopkins on July 25, 2022. After surgery, he will have stereotactic radiation and immunotherapy. Lonnie's "ride or die," Cari Beth (wife) and daughters will be by his side. His oncologist is very confident in the outcome.

As you can imagine, medical expenses, gas, food and lodging will increase quickly. But we want Lonnie to know that we've got his 6! This procedure and all that will follow is no small task; they will need support from family and friends. So we ask for your help in showing our brother in blue that we all stand with him!
