Matthew Sitz Medical Assistance

Our brother Matthew could use some help, please. Matthew went to Orlando with a Youth Violin group he plays percussion for from Chicago and ended up in the hospital due to an "abscess" complication from strep throat which was pushing on his windpipe, making it dangerously difficult to breathe. He had one initial surgery to drain the abscess on Sunday, March 19th. After a CT scan on Tuesday morning, the swelling was still present and additional surgery was performed which found infection all over his mouth, throat, and lungs too, which was very scary. The surgery was quite extensive, and as a result, he had a tracheotomy to replace the breathing tube in his mouth. Matthew was therefore in a much more critical condition and was moved from a Level Three Head/Neck Trauma patient to a Level One Head/ Neck Trauma patient. He's been in the ICU at Orlando Health/Orlando Regional Medical Center for over a week and, while showing great signs of daily improvement, he will have a longer road to recovery than we expected. We know God is healing him every single day and he is getting stronger every minute. We trust that God is in complete control, that He knows the outcome, and that we can trust in His faithfulness and rest in His promise that He is good and loves our brother very much! The fund raised will help Matthew with all the Medical expenses incurred due to his emergency (even with insurance), as well as continuing medical care and rehabilitation that he will need once he can go home to Chicago. Our family is extremely grateful for the wonderful care and concern he has received both from the staff, parents, and members of the youth violin group he was with as well as his medical team at OH/ORMC.
