Our colleague and friend Ivy Chan and her

Hi, my name is Dorthe Clarke and like you I have had the pleasure of working with Ivy back in the Sun Micro days, some of you are continuing that at Oracle.

My friend Ivy is a very private person, so it has taken a while to get her concent to do this.

More than a year ago, Thanksgiving 2022, Ivy became seriously ill and was very quickly transferred to Stanford where she underwent two operations over the next few months. At the time of her second operation her husband passed away suddenly, leaving Ivy and her daughter Bernice to grieve the loss of a husband and father.

Ivy recuperated and was able to return to work in October of last year. Most of us were not aware of the full tragedy till much later and wondered how to help. The phrase, "we all need a helping hand some time", cropped up. 

I am asking you to please contribute and help Ivy and Bernice with medical bills and college tuition. Bernice has been accepted to all of the five colleges she applied to, transferring from two years at De Anza College. Financial aid applications will be next.
