Hi family and friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of our dad’s passing.
On November 15, our dad suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and underwent surgery to drain the blood and fluid from his brain. We knew this wasn’t going to be an easy road, but we held out hope that eventually he’d wake up and we’d be able to take him home. While he was in a coma, he suffered additional strokes in other parts of his brain. We were told by his team of doctors that although he was occasionally squeezing our hand and blinking, the recovery would be slim to none. Dad passed away at Lakewood Regional on Sunday, December 3rd at 1am. He was strong and he fought til his last breath.
It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and we aren’t ready for any of this. Our dad was only 51 years old. He was starting to work less and enjoy life more. We were really proud of him. He enjoyed taking his MC out for a cruise every Sunday and going to car shows with his buddies, going to the casino, watching basketball games as a big ol’ couch potato with his puppy Bruno, and debating about politics or any controversial topic with just about anyone that could keep up. Our dad was a really smart guy, who valued his work ethic and us, his girls.
It’s been nice to meet some of his coworkers and friends who visited him in the hospital and to hear the stories and life experiences you’ve all shared with our dad during all these years. He was loved by many.
We didn’t see this coming and we weren’t prepared for the financial costs of the funeral services. We appreciate any help at this time. Thank you to all of our friends and family for the support & keeping us in your prayers. We love you.
