Our dad, Mike Hanson’s fight against COVID-19

**SEE UPDATE BELOW**

Our dad tested positive for covid pneumonia and has been in the hospital for 28 days and has been on a ventilator for 20. These have been the hardest days of our lives but we are positive and confident this new year will bring us the light at the end of the tunnel

Our parents have always been the type of people to give there shirt off there back & to  help anyone out no matter what. They have given us so much & they have shown so much strength during this time they are true role models and deserve the world.

We, as a lot of you, feel kind of hopeless and don’t know what to do to help. There is a lot of people asking what can I do and we feel like this might be a good way to do that if anyone wanted to contribute especially since my dad knows so many people that don’t live close by.

With ashley and my dad being in the hospital the last thing we want our parents to worry or stress about it is all the medical bills that will start coming in. We have no idea how much anything is or will but with our dad in the hospital this long (& not knowing for how long) and our mom being by our dads side since the beginning she’s not working either so there is no current income. Whatever money is donated will go towards medical bills, food, gas and hotel since my dad is now in peoria, household supplies, baby stuff for hunter etc. We don’t care that you give anything all we ask is for you to pray.  There is a long road ahead of us but with prayers and a positive mind set we will get there. Slow and steady wins the race. We thank every single one of you that have reached out and have helped so far. My dad will be so appreciative when he wakes up and finds out what everyone has done for him and our family during this time.

Thank you please keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming!!
Love the Hanson kids

*** UPDATE***
On February 8th at 12:13am our dad, Caption Mike, the legend has passed away. These words just seem so unreal. We are all in shock and there is no words to say. I’m sorry for your loss and RIP are just words and it seems like our dad is just gone on a fishing trip and should return home. The harsh reality of him not returning is just … again… no words…
The night leading up to my dad passing he was awake for a few minutes and I decided to tell him about the go fund me and how people gave 25 thousand dollars the look he gave me was like “what are you kidding me!?” I laughed and said yes I’m not kidding ! You have so many friends and supports it’s unreal.. I told him I wished I had that many friends lol. Our dad has touched so many lives and has made an impression on everyone. I don’t know how to even think or live a life without him.

There is no life insurance or anything like that so this go fund me will now go all towards funeral expenses and still all the hospital bills since he was there for 2 months.

We still thank every single one of you for reaching out and doing what you have done and being a part of my dads life. He loved being around friends and family and he was always the star of the show. Now he will be the brightest biggest star shining down on us. We will forever love you dad and this is going to be a toughest journey ahead without you but we will stand strong together and try to be “okay”
Until we see you again Dad …. Hope you found the “honey hole” of fishing spots up there. Love love love love love you forever and ever.
