In Memory of Our Dear Friend, Diane Winkler Luke

Diane Winkler Luke, my childhood Tampa friends and the kindest person you could meet, passed away on Monday after her 30+ year battle with lupus. Over the years, my nickname for Diane was "the phoenix", because she would always rise up from her life-threatening condition. Even though many of us knew her health was in decline, her passing profoundly surprised me and likely many of you reading this.

Many of our classmates from Academy of the Holy Names have reached out to ask me what they can do to help Dave and Betsy at this time. Hopefully other friends reading this have asked the same question and are seeking an appropriate way to help. This Go Fund Me is set up to provide Dave with an opportunity to use the funds collected in any way that will help him and Betsy the most at this difficult time. The funds will go directly into Dave's account so that he can access them quickly and appropriately. I hope you will consider this option as a way to show your love and care, not just for Diane, but for Dave and Betsy as they face end of life costs, incoming medical bills from months in the hospital, meals and such as they are busy planning and adjusting to life at this time.

To my dear friend, Diane: I hope we are able to show you how special you are to us by being there in every way we can for your family. You may not have ever let me forget about my crimped hair that one bad day in middle school, but I love you dearly and hope you are running around and dancing in heaven!
