Hello!
My name is, Nekeisha Sutton, I am a mother of a special needs child whom I have not been able to put in a regular childcare facility since birth because these facilities advertise that all children of all disabilities are welcomed, but like parents as myself we know they do not have staff nor "appropriate" classrooms to support our children. Our children continue to be turned down and turned away from these facilities. For me, if I did not have supportive parents whom cared for my son while I worked and went to school, I would not have had the ability to be a productive successful citizen. While I had support, there are many other parents whom do not have this support and they have to stay home with their child and can not be employed or continue their education. With this being said, I have started an in home child care services (A Lifetime of Hope, LLC) where I can go into the homes of these families and help them. My dream goal will to be open a facility where all the children in the community can come while parents are able to work, go to school, or just take time away while knowing their child are in good hands. This facility will have qualified staff like CNA's, LPN's, PCA's whom are professionally trained to care for the kids, age appropriate toys and classrooms that are designed to cater to each child's sensory, intellectual, cognitive, social, and physical abilities. The amount requested is a calculation of the 73,790 disabled children that are in the state of Georgia under the age of 18 (Census, 2019) multiplied by $2.00. If every family in Georgia that has a disabled family member could give only $2.00, it could allow me to open one childcare facility. I would really love to be able to open many of these facilities in different states and cities to give ALL families the ability to have quality childcare INCLUSIVE TO ALL CHILDREN! One facility at a time. Thank you all for your support :)
