The Unexpected
They say that sometimes life comes at you fast, out of the clear blue, like a thief in the night. Earlier this week the thief of fire stole the beloved home of our Mom and Sister's family, as well as all their belongings. At 11:00 PM they discovered their house ablaze. Our nephew was first alerted to the fire and bravely & frantically woke the family, grabbed their aged & ailing dogs and then bolted shoeless through the heat and smoke and into the harsh reality that the night was bringing them. Their home is an entire loss and will be demolished & hauled away in trucks in the next few days. All of their cars were set ablaze and lost, as well as virtually everything they own.
We are thankful that the most precious of things, their very lives, were spared from the wicked and consuming flames. And so today they bravely stand in the love of family to face the grief of their loss and a deep trepidation of an uncertain future. No home, no clothes, no cars, no belongings other than a few dishes and photographs salvaged from the ashes of their once comfortable and loving home. And yet, in the despair of loss, they are thankful to be alive & know they’re loved. We want to ask you, to invite you, to help us show them the great love of community as day by day, step by step, they begin rebuilding their lives.
Your contribution of any size will be received as a gift of wealth & with the deepest of appreciation.
