Quality Medical Care for Massive Stroke Patient

Hello, my name is Kathy Hinton and I am currently raising funds to assist my brother with medical and personal expenses as a result of a massive ischemic stroke. This stroke damaged the complete right side of his body. He can't use his right leg, right arm or hand, nor can he speak clearly due to aphasia. With this being said, when something like this happens to a loved one so abruptly, you are never prepared for the long wait time of SSI approval, you are never prepared for the expenses that comes along with taking care of a loved one in this situation. Therefore, I am asking for assistance because these economic times are very difficult and I need as much support as I can get to assist him as best as I can.

Unfortunately, my brother is only 58 years old. He was employed at the time but lost his insurance coverage due to no longer being a full-time employee. Cobra was offered but extremely expensive. I am in desperate need of funds to obtain and maintain a decent level of care until my brother gets approval for SSI disability. (It's amazing how we pay into Social Security for as long as we work, but have the hardest time getting an approval when needed). Most facilities do not want to accept him without it because they want to ensure that they can get paid. Unfortunately, the facility he's at right now accepted him but the level of care is not beneficial to one who is incapacitated.

I am not asking for any specific amount. However, I am asking that you share this go-fund me with other friends and family members and help me raise money. It's going to take a lot and due to lack of family support, I have been left to deal with this situation alone. Whatever you give will be deeply appreciated and I am thanking everyone in advance for their assistance as well as requesting blessings upon those who want to give but can't. We have a long journey ahead of us that will require a village to help us get through.
