Our father, James "Jim" Meeker

On February 3rd, 2024, James Meeker passed unexpectedly in his home. It's a very difficult time for his 3 children, Tyler, Logan, and Hannah, as well as his sister, Kathy.

James Meeker worked at DTR in Bluffton for 20+ years. He officiated high school football for a long period of time, so much so that all three of us kids got into a lot of high school football games for free, even if we were too young to understand the sport. He was an avid fan of sports teams including his Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He was a great cook, often making thrown-together meals that he made up on the spot that would become some his kids' favorite meals. He was a movie buff, renting multiple movies every weekend of varying qualities. The guy really loved his B-movie horror. He was also a 2-time cancer survivor, showing he was a fighter every step of the way.

Due to the unexpectedness of his death, preparations were not in place. So this GoFundMe is meant to help all 4 of us make this entire process as light of a burden on us as possible. We appreciate any and all donations to help us with funeral costs, cremation, and other post-mortem financial costs. We know a lot of you knew and loved Jim as a person, so you know this is a trying time for all of us.
