Our friend Jasmine Booker

My dear friend, Jasmine Booker needs our help! 

In April of last year her mom was hospitalized for an ulcer... then they found out she had stomach cancer in June. At the same time, her grandmas health started to decline.  Her grandmas health deteriorated so much that she had to go to a skilled nursing home.  Her grandma was supposed to come home Labor Day weekend but never made it home. She passed away suddenly from a blood clot.

Her mom was doing chemo during this time and also grieving the loss of her mother.  Jasmine has been on intermittent leave taking care of her grandma and her mom since last April.  One of these events is stressful enough on anyone, but she has been faced with so much more. 

Her mom went in for surgery in November and they removed a lot of the cancer, but then in  December-January she became very weak and was slowly getting worse. Her team of doctors couldn’t figure out why.  She had been complaining about back pain so they ordered an MRI.  The MRI showed  the cancer and also found a fracture in her neck from a Tumor. The cancer has spread throughout her entire body and is untreatable.  She is Now Stage 4 and Terminal.  On Friday,  the doctors told Jasmine that her mom has 3 months to live and she should set up her home for hospice to come in and make her mom comfortable.

In one year she lost her grandma and now her mom is Terminal.  Jasmine is under a lot of stress and grieving... Not only is this her mom, but she’s  also her best friend.  Jasmine needs to take this time to be with her mom.  She doesn’t need to be worrying about going to work to get that paycheck.  This will help her focus on what is most important- Her Mom!
