Our friend, Leslie Roberts, needs help

Hi Friends,

Kim Nave and Bruce Sartin are trying to help our longtime friend, Leslie Roberts. Leslie was diagnosed with kidney cancer in December 2022. While a few close friends and family knew, she chose to keep her diagnosis private until now.

Leslie originally had one kidney removed which was followed by a second surgery to remove 1/3 of her remaining kidney. She had some complications from the second surgery, including two near-death experiences while hospitalized in June. Then this summer, Leslie learned the cancer had metastasized to her bones in two spots, requiring a series of intense radiation treatments. Now she is on oral chemo immunotherapy for continued treatment of the cancer.

Leslie continues to have complications as a result of the hospitalizations from last June. She is unable to eat or drink much so staying hydrated and nourished is a major concern. Leslie is hospitalized now due to this and hopes to have a g-tube procedure soon to help keep her hydrated and nourished.

The good news is that Leslie has a wonderful partner in her husband, Bob Arnold. Bob has been completely devoted to Leslie's care since January when unfortunately he lost his job. All who know Leslie know that she is an extremely private person. To date, she has tried to manage this terrible health situation on her own, with her family and a few informed friends.

Bruce and Kim offered to set up a GoFundMe for Leslie to help with the medical bills that are piling up. Leslie is not able to work in person and Bob is currently unemployed. I know none of us would wish this situation for anyone we know.

If you're able to help, it's without question, that Leslie and Bob will be forever grateful and thankful. Fighting for your life is one thing, but having the stress of financial stability on top of it is even worse.
