Our friends lost everything in a fire on July 15th

Hi my name Benjamin Edwards, and my wife is Desiree. On the morning of July 15th 2023 we were awoken to allowed pounding on our front door. It was just after 4:00 a.m. I peeked out the window right next to my door to see a 12 year old girl by the name of Evelyn with the look of sheer terror on her face pacing back and forth still pounding on my door saying please answer please answer and then I heard the word fire. I flung my door open and asked her what's going on and very frantically she started screaming that her house was on fire. Evelyn is the daughter of my friend and neighbor Jennifer Mcpharron. Her and her brother Zachary are also my children's friends and my children and them play together almost every day. I could not imagine what an eternity it must have felt like waiting for us to answer the door. My wife and I threw on our shoes really quick and ran out the door and down the street. Jennifer and her children lived right around the corner from us and as soon as we all turn the corner you could see the bright orange glow and smoke fill in the air. As we drew closer quickly I could hear screaming. When we got to the house their shed was fully engulfed in flames and Evelyn and Zachary's bedroom was fully engulfed in flames. Everybody made it out of the house with barely any clothes on and no shoes they got two dogs and one cat out of the house and one cat remained missing. As we waited for the fire department to come my wife Desiree held on to Jennifer trying to console her and at the same time hold her back from trying to run back into the house to try to find the cat. I stayed with the children and tried to keep them safe and back away from the house while my own children still slept in their beds and did not know that their friend's house was going up in flames. And also what seemed like an eternity waiting for the fire department the fire ripped quickly through the entire house and destroyed everything. This family literally lost everything. They lost their furniture they lost all of their clothes they lost their shoes the kids lost their computers that they use for homeschooling. And when I say everything I literally mean everything. All said and done it took over 3 hours to completely extinguish the flames and by the time it was all over you could see all the way through the house and all the way through the roof most of which collapsed. It took over a week of sifting through the rubble and we eventually found the cat. We are trying to raise this money to buy the children clothes and shoes and by Jennifer clothes and shoes and we're trying to raise enough money to get them a first month's last month's in security deposit for a new place to stay. Right now they're staying with a neighbor and it has been almost 2 weeks and he is now in violation of his guest policy on his lease so they only have two more days until they have to get out. We are also trying to raise money to cremate their cat so they still have something. We have raised almost half of the goal that we set and if anybody is wondering no they did not have insurance so I actually think I set the goal a little low because she did own the trailer. I hope that you all can find it in your hearts to help this family and don't just look at the balance and be like well that's a lot of money they don't need anymore because that's not true they need a lot. $5,000 doesn't go very far these days especially when you have to literally start your life over and buy everything. Please help Jennifer Zachary and Evelyn pick up the pieces of their lives and get back some normalcy and try to recover from this terrible tragedy. Thank you so much and God bless
