Please help our grandson, Gabe Jr, recover from induced coma

Our names are Butch and Astrid Bailey and we're reaching out for help on behalf of our grandson, Gabe Jr, and his parents Gabe (our son) and Concha Bailey. Our grandson and a friend went to Pittsburg, PA to experience the solar eclipse. The next day, April 9th, they went skateboarding to take advantage of the city's hills when disaster struck. Jr fell, hitting his head, causing very severe head injuries: a skull fractures and three brain bleeds. He was taken to the University of Pittsburg Medical Center Mercy Hospital, which has a level 1 trauma unit; that likely saved his life. To lower the dangerous pressure on his brain, he was put into an induced coma with medications , which requires he be put on a respirator. When his parents were reached, the doctors told them what no parent wants to hear, " It's essential that you come to his bedside immediately!" They left work and within hours were making the 5 hour trip, not knowing if they would arrive in time. Thanks to the skilled doctors and nurses, of one of the world's best brain trauma centers, he survives but continues to be in a critical condition, still unable to to be woken safely from the induced coma. What initially was hoped to be a week or two now looks to continue another month and possibly more. All of Jr's family and friends are devastated, but no one more so than his parents; they need to be there to give him their love and positive energy, which we are also asking you to send. Their daily living expenses are around $200 per day, helped some by renting a one bedroom, with a kitchen at the hospital's family hotel and cooking their own meals. Both their workplaces have been supportive, however this may continue for an extended period. Your donation will help with these expenses so they can remain focused on helping their son. We believe that, even while comatose, Jr is fighting to recover because that's his nature. Help us, help his parents support Jr's recovery.
