Our Heartbreaking Loss: Sheila Juanette Quitugua Babauta
Donation protected
On October 16, 2024, Sheila Juanette Quitugua Babauta suffered catastrophic injuries in a hit-and-run accident along Route 1 in Asan, near the notorious Dead Man’s Curve. Sheila was struck with such force that she sustained a critical brain bleed, extensive fractures to her pelvis and hips, and multiple broken bones including her ribs, right wrist, and right ankle. These injuries led to massive blood loss and severe, unrelenting pain.
Despite the best efforts of her medical team at U.S. Naval Hospital Guam, who performed numerous surgeries and provided continuous care, Sheila’s condition worsened. Her heart, strained by the physical trauma and subsequent surgeries, failed. Sheila passed away on November 4, 2024.
This GoFundMe campaign seeks to raise funds for Sheila’s funeral expenses and to support her 13-year-old son, Lucas, who is now without his mother. Your generosity can help alleviate the financial burden faced by our family during this devastating time and ensure that Lucas is cared for as he navigates this profound loss.
Due to service area restrictions on GoFundMe, this fundraiser is hosted in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, because Guam is not recognized as an eligible location by the platform.
