Help us raise funds for "Our Journeys: 50 Years After the Fall" a traveling exhibition presented by Vietnamese Boat People (VBP).
We are SO proud to present this first-of-its-kind exhibition, debuting in 2025. The exhibition commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon, a pivotal moment in world history that marked the end of a civil war in Vietnam and the beginning of arduous journeys to freedom for millions of Vietnamese.
Since VBP began in 2018, it has been a life-changing endeavor for our entire team of volunteers. With over 250 stories collected, we are so honored to be able to bring forward a curated exhibition to showcase our stories and experiences to a much broader audience and in a physical space through this exhibition.
Your unwavering support over the years, has been instrumental in propelling us to this stage. As we approach 2025, creating something extraordinary for our community requires your assistance.
ENSURE THAT OUR STORIES ARE HEARD: By supporting this exhibition you are championing the cause of ensuring that our stories are not only heard, but also never forgotten.
2025 will no doubt be a transformative year for Vietnamese people worldwide. A time of deep reflection on our journeys and the evolution of our families and communities. As we approach this significant milestone, we feel a sense of urgency. Many stories and experiences are at risk of being forgotten over the course of 50 years, particularly with our aging parents and elders.
THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION to raise awareness about these journeys, strengthen community bonds, and inspire more families to safeguard and celebrate their heritage. This exhibition is our tribute to preserving and showcasing our shared history.
DONATE TODAY: 100% of funds raised will go towards the production of this first-of-its-kind exhibition.
This exhibition is not about the war, it is about our humanity. We will showcase stories around three central themes: Endurance and Flight, Adaptation and Identity, and Intergenerational Impact and Moving Forward.
The images you see are a preview of the exhibition! Our VBP team is working with experienced exhibition designers, Thinc Design, to create an immersive experience with written stories, multimedia presentations, photographs, location tags, and video essays that capture the resilience and legacy of the Vietnamese community.
Rooted in the rich tapestry of intergenerational stories, and true to our community-driven mission, the exhibition seeks to bridge generations and foster a deeper understanding of the Vietnamese diaspora experience.
After its launch in New York City, the exhibition will travel to cities across the U.S., inviting new participants to engage with the Vietnamese diasporic experiences, recognizing them as a vital part of the Asian American story.
WE NEED YOUR HELP: 100% of funds raised will go towards the production of this first-of-its-kind exhibition.
