Our Lady of Fatima Church Food Pantry

For my mitzvah project, I will be raising money for Our Lady of Fatima Church food pantry in Port Washington, NY.
My goal is to raise at least $1800 by running 180 miles leading up to my
Bat Mitzvah on May 15th, 2021
I chose this project for two reasons. First, I wanted to incorporate my passion for running as I help others. The second reason is that I want to raise money for an important cause in my community and I know that Our Lady of Fatima is a local church that is always there to support those in need.
At this time, during the COVID-19 pandemic, people in many communities struggle to find their next meal. I feel so fortunate to have plenty of food to eat at home and can’t imagine going hungry but so many people do. I hope to minimize the amount of people that go hungry each day, by helping to provide them the basic necessity of food.
Due to the world-wide Coronavirus pandemic, Our Lady of Fatima food pantry has been struggling to receive their yearly donations. While people are still going hungry, fewer people are contributing to this cause because of COVID-19.
With the help of your sponsorship, I know that I will help lessen the need and the stress of lack of food for the families in my community. Your donation will help Our Lady of Fatima food pantry so they can help as many people in need as possible.
