Our beloved mother Benita memorial fund
Family & Friends as we all know, we lost our brother about a month ago...
& i am sad to inform you all that our Mother has now passed away as after many weeks of heart break due to Our David passing away & the effects it took on her spirit & will to live.
Our Mom was rushed to the emergency room on Friday morning after our sister found her unconscious & unresponsive when she stopped by to do her morning routine & to tend to her.
Doctors said that her heart was showing signs of slowing down & wanting to give out. They then admitted her to Saint Joseph's Hospital to the intensive Care Unit where they kept close eye on her around the clock.
The kind & dilligent Doctors and Nurses of Saint Joseph's Hospital sadly gave the Hernandez Family a hard ultimatum; to continue the uphill battle of fighting to keep Mama Benita's heart from failing & to resucitate if that happened, & risking irreversable neuroligocal damage thus putting her in a worse health condition OR to let her go with dignity & peace if her heart were to stop.
Mama Benita had already been struggling with a long list of health issues for several years, some of which included ending stage diabetes, kidney failure, hypertension, she was on dialysis 3 times a week, she had went thru an amputation of her right leg & was dependent on a wheelchair. Her health, physical & mental well being required round the clock close observation, care, & effort by her whole family in bathing her, changing her, carrying her in & out of transportation to endless doctor appointments. She was in & out of hospitals constantly & it was a day by day struggle for her to do the simplest of tasks. She battled with severe depression and her health & will to live only declined drastically when her son David passed away tragically & suddenly a few weeks ago.
Benita Hernandez led a beautiful & truely selfless life. Catering to & loving her husband, 7 children, 16 grandchildren unconditionally day in & day out.
Many will remember her by her kind heart, soft spoken friendly conversations on her daily walks to the grocery store & the laundrymat across the street, pushing her cart full of her family's laundry proudly, happily & with her heart FULL OF LOVE! ♥️
Even as her 7 children grew into adults & had families of their own, Doña Benita continued to go above in beyond for all of them, extending to caring for her grandchildren.
A few of the things that brought joy to Doña Benita were gardening, feeding the birds in her patio, taking care of her animals & spoiling them.
She loved to feed people in need, helping her extended family in need from Mexico by sending donations such as clothing, money & making sure she reached out to them on a normal basis.
She was a strong woman. A selfless woman. A woman of Faith & had the kindest, most gentle soul.
The day she passed, Heaven gained a true angel.
Although our hearts ache for her tender love & presence, we know that she's in a better place in the presence of God where she no longer lives in pain. She is now re-united with her loving son whom she yearned for since the day of his passing, as well as her brother Juan, Jesus "Chuy", her sister Natalia, her Mother Maria & Father Lupe. ♥️
If you would like to contribute to Doña Benitas burial funds, The Hernandez Family appreciates it, as we are trying to give her the most beautiful celebration of life that she deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
The Hernandez Family. ♥️
Forever in our hearts,
Mami, abuela, Benny & as most of you all know her as, "Doña Benita"
