Our Mom's Home

Hi, we are Holly Shaud and Barb Burshnick, daughters of Sue Rodkey. We wanted to seek help for our mother after she was put in quite an unfortunate situation. Our mother, along with her husband Jim, own one property that is split into two homes. They live on one side and the other was rented out to a very close loved one for many, many years. Over the past few years, our Mom had noticed that the rented out side was getting pretty messy. She had asked the renter to clean up countless times. As of a few months ago, our mother had to evict this person. When we went over there to assess the condition, we were all horrified. No one knew how bad it was. Between our mother, step-father, and ourselves, we have spent several hours/days and money just removing all of the trash from the home. Once that was done, we found that the entire home needs everything replaced. There is not one salvageable thing in the home. I know many people will ask why our mother doesn't sue this renter, and you have to just understand that because of who the person was, we are not going that route. Luckily, we both have husbands that are handy and will help with the work needed, but we also know this project will take a lot of money. I know the world is in bad shape right now, but we wanted to at least try to see if we could get help from anyone out there. Even if there is someone who doesn't have money, but could help with repairs. Our mother is absolutely deserving of the world and the fact that she was left with this completely breaks our heart. This fundraiser is not known to her at this time. If we do collect funds, I thought it would be a nice surprise to show her on her birthday in June. We are not looking to turn this into a $300k home, just get it back to basics.
