Hi, My sister and I are reaching out to family and friends on behalf of our parents. Our mother has been suffering from depression for some time now. While seeing several doctors locally for many reasons regarding her health. Lab work multiple times as well and each time the result was that she was fine. She even had a few test done on her abdominal and lower extremities with same results.."You're fine". She continued to feel very swollen and not herself at all. She contacted her kidney specialist in San Antonio and they advised her to come here ASAP. Lab work and kidney biopsy were done. Kidney function results came back at 20. Doctor ordered for her to be put on dialysis right away. They are hoping that the temporary dialysis port will help her kidney get back up and running. First couple days of dialysis, 6 liters of fluid were removed from her body. Thankfully, she is getting better but is still in the hospital. More test need to be run to rule out why she is retaining fluid. My dad has been with her since last Wednesday. Unfortunately, his job does not offer any benefits other than health insurance. We are trying to help them get assistance with any medical cost, bills, etc. If you have any extra funds to contribute please help them here and if you can't, a prayer for my mother and father would be greatly appreciated.
