Our pal Kwas needs a hand...

In the TV / Entertainment biz we come across plenty of characters. The people we meet with great character are the ones we cherish.. and the person I'm starting this GO FUND ME for to help I'm sure you all would agree has one of the biggest hearts you'll ever meet... Steve Kwasnik.

You may know him as the talented TV producer at PBS with the "Mr. Positive attitude" or one of our favorite Sportsbox Co-Ordinators in the Philly TV Broadcast Freelancer family that famously did some celebrity boxing and bodybuilding in his spare time. But you may not know, the last few years have been pretty tough on him. He's been fighting health issues left and right and had to lean hard on his well noted positive mindset.

For over the last 2 years he's had a rare skin ailment in an aggresive form of facial cellulitis that needed extensive anti-biotics treatment while suffering a detached retina and cataracts surgery amongst other health issues. And while in that time, he also became a newlywed and was blessed with a newborn baby.. 20 months ago the child had complications with a pre-mature birth keeping him in ICU for weeks. Just when those things seemed to be coming around for the better... Kwaz began suffering instances of losing balance and loss of feeling in his extremeties from time to time. Then 3 months ago he suffered a fall which resulted in him having to undergo emergency brain surgery for a subdural hematoma. It went well thank God. But...They still may have to operate again if it wasn't fully excavated or if the swelling doesn't fully dissipate. The next Cat Scan will tell.

I've been in touch with him and he's in his usual good spirits... He said, "The lobotomy was a success." However, I know it's been very hard on him. He couldn't even care for or play with his baby for a good while to be safe that he wouldn't injure the wounds to his head healing from the surgery. He's had a lot of medical bills and baby care costs to handle while he recovers. He's also lost a lot of work. He hopes to be back at free-lance work soon but he could use a little hand.

If you are lucky enough to know Kwaz as a friend like I do... you know he would do anything to help a pal. And if know Kwaz at all... you know he'd never ask for help himself... so I'm asking for him. If you can spare a lil help for a friend/colleague... it would be going to a great guy in need... our IBEW 98 brother.. and always sunny pal...with Philly fighting spirit.. our TV-Broadcast Team's mini-Rocky...
