Father, mighty Warrior, in the deep oceans of illness, my faith will stand that you are healing my loved one. I call upon your name and ask that my loved one finds rest in your loving arms. When sickness and pain arise, we are thankful that your grace overflows in these deep waters. May your all-powerful hand be our guide. When fears surround us, remind us that you have never failed us. We rest securely in your love and your desire to rescue your people. Amen. Our precious Desiree Duran is battling for her life as she continues to fight under life support in the Neuro-ICU. Desiree has lots of strength and we know how powerful of a fighter she has always been. Desiree is truly a blessing to our family. On June 18, 2023, Desiree had a fall from her unsteadiness, requiring a trip to the emergency room. She was sent home, but her symptoms worsened with no improvement. Desiree became very weak while at home and was unable to walk without any assistance. She was sleeping all day without any appetite which is unusual for her. Desiree was taken back to the emergency room revealing that her shunt had failed, leading to a buildup of fluid around her brain and spinal cord. The doctors recommended that Desiree have surgery to remove a little bit of fluid from her head which will hopefully help with the symptoms she was experiencing. They placed a temporary drain and the plan was to revise or replace the old one when she recovered. Because of this surgery, Desiree was admitted into the ICU with a breathing tube since she was unable to breathe 100% on her own. After the surgery and CT scan, Desiree was not improving and they found another problem which has made things worse. Desiree now developed a bleed in her brain causing her to have another invasive surgery to fix the problem. The emergency surgery was performed along with a craniectomy leaving Desiree in a more critical condition with fear and sadness over our family. Desiree's blood pressure was also very low and the doctors prepared us for the worst. Aside from her 2 surgeries, Desiree had an emergency chest tube placed. Desiree has also suffered multiple fevers and is currently being treated for pneumonia. It is not in our character to be asking for financial assistance since we are givers from the heart. We are reaching out to the community for your support. Your assistance will help through the hardship Desiree and her family are facing. Not only will it help with medical expenses but also help Mom since she is giving her whole being to Desiree and is unable to work. The number one thing we ask for is prayer, thoughts, and love for Desiree. Desiree has always been a warrior and teaches us to be the same. She has been through more than 20 surgeries over her life and has always prevailed. Desiree has never experienced the world as we have and is vulnerable but her smile would never tell you so. We stand alongside Desiree loving the person she is and are fighting with her. A warrior never fights alone, we are next to you Desiree. We love you with all of our hearts. May the angels watch over you.
