Southport 10k - Half-Marathon
Donation protected
We are a team of staff from Greenbank High School about to embark on the Southport 10k or half-marathon. Some of us are keen runners, some of us absolutely not but most definitely up for a challenge in support of all our very worthy House Charities (UNICEF, British Heart Foundation, Southport Offshore Rescue, Liverpool Women's Neo-natal, BEAT, Queenscourt Hospice, Evergreen Blossom Academy). On Sunday 25th June, we will be taking part, and hopefully completing, what will be for many of us a real challenge. Read all about our staff getting involved below and if you can donate even a small amount it will be greatly appreciated by the whole school community and the charities we support.
Mrs Campbell, Head of RE. Event organiser. Wanted to get back out running and a challenge with colleagues was the perfect opportunity!
Mrs Robinson, Headteacher. Hates running, loves a challenge and for some reason unknown to herself has signed up for the half-marathon! Still barely able to jog so this is going to be a real stretch.
Miss Cullen Assistant Headteacher. I have spent all my teaching career encouraging pupils to run so I thought I would practice what I preach and take this opportunity to take part in this challenge with my colleagues, to raise money for our house charities.
Mrs Tees, Teacher of English A milestone birthday made me sign up for this challenge. The furthest I have ever run is 5K so this will be a real step up; feet fail me not!
Ms Parry, Head of Food and Nutrition I love running – I can’t run that far or that fast but just getting out and raising some money is good enough reason to go.
Mrs Ross, Teacher of History I’ve not done any serious running for a long time, so this was a great reason to get back into it. Plus, all the training is a good excuse to have an extra slice of cake or two!!
Mr Scott, Teacher of Maths
Mrs Pritchard, Head of Year 10 and Teacher of Science.
