Our Sharon has Breast Cancer

Donation protected
We are reaching out to you today to humbly request your support and kindness for Sharon. Sharon’s diagnosis is a rare form of breast cancer. She was diagnosed in August 2023.

Unfortunately, Sharon’s cancer is Grade 3 or a high grade. Cancer cells at this high-grade look quite different from normal cells and are growing faster. High grades are often more likely to turn into invasive breast cancer.

The doctors encouraged Sharon to have a double mastectomy to give her the best chance at a longer quality future. We are hopeful with the proper treatment and the experience of the Physicians at Center for Restorative Breast Surgery in Louisiana.

The relative 5-year survival rate for grade 3 breast cancer is 86 percent, according to the American Cancer Society. This means that out of one hundred people with grade 3 breast cancer, 86 will survive past 5 years.

Sharon has a strong and resilient soul and has always been there for others; offering her love and support unconditionally to everyone she meets. Now, it is our turn to rally around her and provide the care and assistance she needs during this challenging time. Sharon has loved on and taken care of so many people over the years. Sharon has been a nurse for over 23 years working in the emergency room, dialysis, Heart Cath lab, ICU, as well as other areas in healthcare.

Insurance will not provide her with the coverage she needs to meet the quality of care she deserves. I cannot accept this and will fight on her behalf.

Anything you contribute goes to pay related doctors, labs, and surgery bills, transportation, and hotel accommodations. We will be traveling to Louisiana, to have her surgeries. I will post updates on these costs as we go forward.

Moreover, these funds will also ease her financial strain, enabling her to cover essential household bills such as rent, utilities, and other unexpected expenses that inevitably arise during this challenging time. Sharon will not be able to work for 6 months after surgery. Sharon will be unable to lift more than five pounds, not being able to fulfill her demanding nursing obligations. Our goal is to provide her with the financial stability and peace of mind she deserves, allowing her to concentrate solely on her healing process. She is currently looking for a less physical work environment.

Thank you for being a part of this community of support and for standing by Sharon’s side during this uphill battle. Your contributions, thoughts, and prayers are invaluable, and we are eternally grateful for your support.

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” — Maya Angelou.
