Our sister and friend Digna Aracely Alvarez

Hello, my name is Leoni Sing-Halter and I am fundraising for our sister (adopted) and friend Aracely who suffered an aneurysm on 2/15/2023. About 30 years ago, she moved to San Pedro Sula for work and stayed with my family for a time becoming friends and part of our family since then. The hospital does not have the equipment to do the test needed either to perform the procedure. To start she needs to have an "Angiography" to determine the right way to precede as operating the brain can damage cognition and mobility. Due to the cost of the surgery (Around $75k-100k), she probably will need to be translated to Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa. The neurosurgeon is trying to avoid moving her to a different city (hospital) as he is concerned about her condition.

2/17/2023 UPDATE

We want to thank you all for your prayers and donations. Aracely was able to have the angiogram and all went well. The doctor who read the results confirmed the aneurysm and the bleeding in the brain. She still needs to have surgery as soon as possible. In the meantime, doctors are controlling with medication the swelling in the brain and the high blood pressure. We are trying to make arrangements for her to be admitted to Hospital Escuela but it has been a challenge, but we are optimistic.

Hola, mi nombre is Leoni Sing-Halter y estoy recaudando fondos para nuestra hermana (adoptiva) Aracely y amiga quien sufrio una aneurisma el 15/02/2023 . Ella se movio a San Pedro Sula por trabajo hace 3 decadas y hospedo con mi familia por un tiempo, de lo que nacio una amistad especial que ella ha sido parte de mi familia desde entonces. El hospital no tiene el equipo para realizar algunos examenes especializados que ella necesita, "Angiografia" o para realizar el procedimiento quirurgico. Ella necesita la angiografia para que el neurocirujano puede determinar la manera correcta de proceder ya que en su caso es delicado poder operar el cerebro ya que puede tener consecuencias como perder mobilidad o razonamiento. Debido al costo de la cirugia en un hospital privado (Aproximadamente $75k-100k), la tendran probablemente que trasladar al Hospital Escuela de Tegucigalpa. El Neurocijano quiere evitar trasladarla a otra ciudad/hospitas debido a lo delicado de su condicion.

2/17/2023 ACTUALIZATION

Queremos agradecerles a todos por sus oraciones y donacions a favor de Aracely. Se le pudo realizar a ella el angiograma y todo salio bien con el procedimiento. El doctor que leyo los resultados confirmo el aneurisma y el sangrado en el cerebro. La cirugia es necesaria y debera hacerse lo mas pronto posible. Por el momento, los medicos la mantienen bajo control con medicamentos para el hinchazon en el cerebro y la alta presion. Estamos tratando que sea admitida en el Hospital Escuela pero esta siendo dificultoso, pero estamos siendo optimistas.
