Our Sweet Cat Was Shot – Help Us Fight for Him

Henry is our gentle, loving, 4-year-old tuxedo cat who has been a part of our family since he was a kitten. He’s the kind of cat who lets you dress him up in silly little collars with sharks or alligators on them, and he’ll proudly wear them like they’re part of his personality. He always wants to be near someone—on a lap, curled up by your side, or simply watching what you’re doing. He just loves people, and anyone who’s met him knows how incredibly sweet and gentle he is.

But a few days ago, something unimaginable happened.

Henry didn’t come in one night during a storm, and when we found him in the garage, he was soaked, bleeding, unable to move, and had clearly dragged himself home through the rain. He had been shot. Someone shot our sweet boy. While stuck and unable to move, terrified and in pain, he still managed to get back home. And yet, even in the vet’s office—after all of that—he was still purring. Because that’s just who Henry is. He would never hurt a soul.

Right now, he’s fighting to recover at the vet. The injuries are serious: he has trauma to his back legs and claws, fluid around his lungs, and damage from the bullet that may require long-term treatment or surgery. The estimated cost for everything is around $18,000—a number far beyond what our family can afford. My mom is raising three kids on her own, and as much as it breaks our hearts, we need help to save him.

Henry is more than a pet—he’s our family. He’s comfort, laughter, and love in one little black and white body. We are so grateful he made it home that night. Please, if you can, help us give Henry the chance to live the life he deserves. No animal should ever have to go through what he did.
