Our Trey Treys journey

Hi, my names Luci, we are hoping to raise funds for a very special little boy who is very close to all of our hearts.

Trey is my 11 year old nephew on the 6th of January my sister took Trey to the urgent care centre due to sickness and a pain in the top of his stomach, what generally started off as a bad bout of a sickness bug turned into our worst nightmare;

Trey was rushed from urgent care through to A&E at Milton Keynes hospital as his heart was only functioning at 10% his kidneys and liver were failing.

At this point Milton Keynes reached out to the specialist team at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. They quickly and efficiently assessed the situation, they decided Trey needed to be taken to a specialist hospital one which had access to an artificial heart machine called and ecmo. Initially they said Southampton . They set to work to place Trey into a medically induced coma it was risky but his only choice, part way through they decided he would not survive the 2hour 20 minute journey so they were diverted them to the Royal Brompton institution of heart and lungs. They said he would likely die once they assessed him but he kept fighting , still in his coma to help his body rest. Sadly it wasn’t getting better and he has been placed on the ecmo machine, each hour feels like a year as the risks are high and as he stays in the machine the risks grow. Now, Trey enters his 5th day in ecmo the whole family are waiting to find out if he is a viable candidate for a heart transplant as his heart will not repair

We are hoping to raise funds for the travel to and from the hospital as well as living expenses, my sister and brother in law have thankfully been given accommodation in the hospital so they can stay bedside 24 hours and hold our Treys hand, they still have their house to take care of and any bills that are still coming, obviously due to these heartbreaking circumstances Elise and Dan cannot work and need to stay with Trey so these things are all the worries we would like to take away from them so they can concentrate on their son and this journey as this will be an ongoing journey for him and the whole family

Anything you could donate would help us so much. We of course appreciate this is a hard time for everyone as it’s just after Christmas and the cost of living is high but anything could help at this time with Treys journey ❤️
