Our Van was confiscated by the Mexican authorities

On April 3rd we were pulled over by Mexican Police and our van was confiscated. As you can imagine this was devastating. Forced out of our home and vehicle in a foreign country with no where to go is where we found ourselves. With little help from the officers we had to find a ride to the nearest town which was 2 hours away. Once we arrived to the town we could not find a hotel that accepted pets. After hours of searching for lodging we finally found a place that allowed Gypsy (very expensive) The next day we were able to rent a car in hopes of starting the process of getting our van back. Unfortunately we have been unsuccessful and all attempts we made to get help from the Mexican authorities have not been unsuccessful as well. On the 4th we made a call to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico in hopes of getting some assistance and we were told that our situation was not an Emergency. With no help from the Mexican Authorities and no help from The U. S. Embassy we find ourselves in a heartbreaking situation.

After hours of searching we finally located a local lawyer who informed us that our van is basically being held for ransom and the only way we’ll be able to get it back would be to pay a hefty fee.

This ordeal has been a nightmare and our prayer is that it ends with us reuniting with the van we worked so hard for. We understand that times are hard for everyone right now but we would graciously appreciate any monetary help we can get.
