Help Pay for the Funeral of 28 Year Old Ahmad Yar Killed in Dallas
The 28 year old Ahmad Yar was combat warrior and has worked for US Forces in Afghanistan as linguist. He came to the United Sates as a refugee under the Special immigrant Visa (SIV) program in 2014. After spending two years in Virginia, he moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked hard to support his parents and siblings that he left behind in Afghanistan.
On the evening of March 19th, Ahmad took some cash out of an ATM, and was hoping to send some money to his ailing mother in Afghanistan to see a doctor, when unknown gunmen shot him three times in his vehicle in an apartment complex in Dallas. Ahmad was left bleeding and by the time by passers noticed his blood-soaked body, they called the police. Ahmad later died of his wounds in the local hospital. The police have not yet identified any suspects officially yet, and are investigation the incident.
The family has decided to move his body to Afghanistan so that the ailing parents can see the young man one last time. We are calling on your to contribute any amount to pay for the expenses of his funeral and transportation as well as some financial assistance for his family who heavily depended on his support.
