ON A MISSION
We're on a mission to raise a million quids to inspire a million kids to aim higher than high in life, powered by their creativity and our communities.
BUT WILL IT WORK?
Right now to prove that what we've been doing for ten years can work across the country, we need to get the first £250k together to get the first three of our pop-up creativity day art trucks on the road
These trucks contain everything needed to run a creativity day in a school or community, fete or festival and we want to fully fund three STEAMsters to go out and help deliver these sessions for free for a year.
WHY?
We believe creativity is important as it can inspire kids in their learning, connect communities and power the economy.
We help communities run these creativity days to help their kids find their passion in life, we call it their art, something that might help them make a bit of money one day, a few friends or the world a better place.
TURBO CHARGED
Last summer we were blown away when Smartsheet, a sponsor of the McLaren F1 team, took their logo off the car and replaced it with ours as #SponsorX for the British Grand Prix which saw their driver's best result to date.
TALKIN' 'BOUT A REVOLUTION
As you can see above, they made a film about our work and to help ignite the creativity revolution by getting the first of three trucks on the road in:
- Shropshire and the North West - Where better to launch a creativity revolution than at the birthplace of the industrial revolution
- Cornwall and the South West - Whose son, Richard Trevithick invented the first steam train
- Yorkshire and the North East - Whose hard working men, women and children literally powered the industrial revolution with coal dug by their bare hands
We also want to star a weekly live streamed #RocketKidsClub to keep the vibe alive and our kids inspired after our visits.
We had a fantastic week at McLaren's Technical Centre and Silverstone with families from the above counties and McLaren's super star driver Lando Norris even joined us at one of our school sessions to launch a dynamite rocket, which we also filmed.
Sadly, but unsuprisingly, they weren't able to contribute to our fundraising or match fund this initial amount so here we are.
WHO ARE YOU AGAIN?
We're STEAM Co. a UK non-profit community enterprise that was co-founded by the community of an inner city primary school in London over ten years ago.
Since then a dad, Nick Corston, has been buzzing around the country on his bike, then a car now a #StarShip22 working with shcool communities from Cornwall to Carlisle, Cardiff to Coventry, London to Leeds and Liverpool, Birmingham to Belfast.
100% of head teachers he has worked with say they'd recommend the sessions and, especially after lock-down, our kids have never needed them more.
But budgets are tight and art and creativity is being cut, even technology and coding isn't on offer in every school.
That's why this needs to happen now.
Will you help us ignite #OurCreativityRevolution, the one our children, our communities and our country so desperately need.
WAYS TO HELP
Please chip in what ever you can.
And if you really want to help us and match fund the foirst £125k we need, then we have a #BigBookBet for you.

A BEACON
For us art is the coal
Art is the oil of the creativity revolution
Which is why we’ve been building an art rig, #OurSeeMonster in schools and communities, at fetes and festivals across the UK
As a beacon for the creativity revolution, our children, our communities and our country so desperately need.
More about that soon in the updates below
